英語の論文（メモ）

新書498闘うレヴィ=ストロース (平凡社新書)

渡辺公三『闘うレヴィ＝ストロース』の巻末には詳細な「レヴィ＝ストロース著作・論文リスト」が載っている（pp.294-273）。それを眺めていると、1940年代を中心にレヴィ＝ストロースがかなりの数の英語の論文を書いていることがわかる；

特にAmerican Anthropologistはどの大学の図書館でも所蔵している雑誌であり、俺自身も何度となく図書館で捲っている筈なのだが、どうして今まで気づかなかったのだろうか。図書館での資料検索にせよネット検索にせよ、「男だったら／ひとつにかけて／かけてもつれた／謎を解く」という銭形平次精神が必要なのだなとつくづく思う。
また、『悲しき熱帯』の最後に突然印度世界の話が出てきて、最初読んだときは、ちょっと唐突なんじゃないかなと少し驚いたことがあるのだが、レヴィ＝ストロースは1950年８〜10月に当時の東パキスタン（現在のバングラディシュ）で「パキスタンにおける社会科学教育の現状」調査を行い、その序でにチッタゴン*2にてフィールドワークを行っている（p.170）。その成果は、
