区別すること、それは線を引くことであるが、数学的には線は幅を持たない。幅を持った途端、平面になってしまう。しかし、現実には幅を持たない線は存在しない。線を引き・区別すると、その境界線の帰属が問題となってくる。いったい、どっちに属すのか。区別をすればするほど、どっちでもあり・どっちでもないという存在をどんどんと産出してしまうことになるのである。

ところで、The Durutti ColumnのIdiot Savants*3を開封して、聴き始める。ゲストで歌っているPoppy Robertsという女性のヴォーカリストがなかなかいい。マンチェスターの、まだ無名のシンガーであるらしいが、コクトー・ツインズのエリザベス・フレイザーとかを想起させる。
さて、このアルバムでは、

という文がAnthony Wilson*4に捧げられた”Interleukin 2(for anthony)”と”Whisper to the Wind”と”That Blows My Name Away(for rachel)”の３曲で反復されている。というか、”Whisper to the Wind”と”That Blows My Name Away(for rachel)”はそもそも歌詞が全く同じ。誰でも”I whisper to the wind”からキング・クリムゾンの”I talk to the wind”を連想するのでは？　また、”Life can be hard”というフレーズも反復されている。”Interleukin 2(for anthony)”の最後では、
