１月26日朝、韓国密陽市*1にある「セジョン病院」で火災が発生し、病院に併設された老人ホーム入居者を含む37名の患者が死亡した。午前中にBBCの報道を読んだときには、死者は「少なくとも31名」だったのだが。
韓国では、昨年12月にも、堤川市*2のスポーツ・センターの火災で29名の死者を出している；
