伊太利の役者 Raphael Schumacherは、１月30日、伊太利ピサの「光明劇場（Teatro Lux）」*1でMiragesという芝居に出演中、自らの首にロープを巻くという演技をしていて、首吊り状態になってしまい、病院に運ばれたが、昏睡状態が続いていた。病院は２月４日に彼の「脳死」を宣言した。演技（死ぬフリ）がマジになってしまったわけだ。本来の台本では拳銃自殺という設定だったが、Raphael Schumacherのアイディアで首吊り自殺に変更されたともいう。
Raphael Schumacherというと、やはり独逸系なのだろうか。シューマッハーというと、多くの人がスキーで樹木に衝突して昏睡状態に陥ったF1レーサーを想起するのではないだろうか。彼も一旦回復した体調が再び悪化しているという報道を最近読んだのだけど。また、1993年にBeyondの黄家駒が日本のヴァラエティ番組収録中の事故で昏睡状態に陥り、そのまま日本で客死したことを思い出した*2。
