桜島稲妻 - Living, Loving, Thinking, Again

桜島が噴火したんだ。画像を見ると、溶岩流の上で稲妻が走っている。何故噴火に伴って雷が鳴るのかはわからないのだが。昨年の８月に、気象庁が大規模噴火が起こる可能性が「きわめて高い」という警告を発したということだが*1、石原和弘氏*2によれば、今回の噴火は「過去の噴火と比較して平均的なもの」であるという。まあ桜島の噴火は日常的で、鹿児島市というのはその火山灰を避けるために、日本で最も早くエアコンが普及した町だということを聞いたことがある。
木曽の御嶽山の噴火は一昨年のことか*3。
