大晦日（現地時間）、ナタリー・コール*1が死す。享年65歳。彼女は長年薬物依存とC型肝炎を抱えていた。上掲の記事のタイトルにもあるように、彼女は「ナット・キング・コールの娘」という肩書きが生涯取れなかった。このことは幸だったのだろうか、それとも不幸だったのだろうか。
