写真はJen Campbell*1 The Bookshop Book*2という本からの抜粋。英国（イングランド）だけでなく希臘、印度、中国、カンボディアの本屋も出てくる。また、ノーベル賞作家のAlice Munro*3が1960年代にカナダのヴィクトリアで開いたMunro's。新古典主義建築で、本屋というよりは銀行だろうと思ったけれど、実際に元銀行の建物であった。
