何と、ドナルド・トランプは、今回の事故の遠因を、先代のバイデン民主党政権の多様性重視政策によって航空管制官を含む連邦公務員の採用における実力評価が疎かになっていることに求めた。勿論、トランプははっきりしたエヴィデンスを示しているわけではない。
それよりも民主党筋が指摘している、トランプによる連邦公務員スラッシュのために航空管制官が不足しているという方が〈常識（common sense）〉にフィットするような気がするけれど。
