オクラホマ州は米国の諸州の中でも新型コロナウィルスのデルタ株が最も猛威を振るっている州のひとつであるが、さらに別の要素が加わって、同州の医療資源は逼迫に追い込まれている。それは、日本でも抗コロナ薬として多大なる期待を寄せる人も少なくない抗寄生虫薬のイヴェルメクティン*1である。オクラホマ州の病院には、家畜用のイヴェルメクティンを過剰摂取した患者が殺到している。そのために、肝心のコロナ患者が病棟を追い出され、他の州の病院に移送されるということも起きている。
