ノーベル化学賞を受賞した化学者の根岸英一氏が現地時間６月６日にインディアナポリスにて死去。享年85歳。
根岸氏といえば、2018年３月の交通事故*1の印象が強烈で、検索エンジンでは、今でもこの事故及びこの事故によるお連れ合いの訃報の方が本人の訃報よりも上位で出てくるのだった。
