スザンヌ・ヴェガのClose-Upは彼女の過去の曲を新たに演奏・レコーディングするプロジェクトだが、第１集のLove Songsでは”Gypsy”がカヴァーされていて、それだけで嬉しくなってしまい、この曲だけ反復して聴いている始末。実は歌詞を暗記している数少ない曲であるのだ。

You come from far away
With pictures in your eyes
Of coffee shops and morning streets

冒頭から惹き込んでいく。この青白い早朝の街のイメージはあの”Tom’s Diner”とも共通するのだが。
また、歌詞の後半；

With a long and slender body
And the sweetest softest hands
And we’ll blow away forever soon
And go on to different lands

And please do not ever look for me
But with me you will stay
And you will hear yourself in song
Blowing by one day

「あなたは歌のなかで自分自身を聴くことになる」。その歌はこの歌だという自己言及。
そもそもスザンヌ･ヴェガは歌い上げるというタイプの歌い手ではないけれど、このアルバムでは、自己との距離というか、自らの曲（の世界）を突き放してしまっているという感がある。例えば（オリジナルは）ファースト･アルバムに収められていた”Marlene on the Wall”。この歌で歌われているのが凄まじいことだというのは、歌い出しの
