The sociologist said that it’s no surprise that the survey found many migrants spend their leisure time reading pornographic books and that some eventually commit sexual crimes.
Nonetheless, Li said it’s unfair to attribute the high crime rate of migrant workers to poor morals and weak respect for the law.
“If there are no normal ways for them to relieve their sexual tension, they will be tempted to commit crimes,” Li said.
