ブッシュ（子）政権で副大統領を務めたディック・チェイニー氏*1がカマラ・ハリス*2支持を宣言した。まあ、以前から娘のリズ・チェイニー*3は共和党内における反トランプの中心人物だったのだけど。先月から、ドナルド・トランプに反旗を翻してハリス支持を明言する共和党関係者が相継いでおり、遂に元副大統領まで！ という感じなのだけど、これがトランプ陣営にどのくらいの衝撃なのかはわからない。 がちのトランプ信者であれば、今回のことも、ディープ・ステイトとしての馬脚を現したという意味を与えることができるだろう。しかし、そういう〈信者〉はどれほどいるのかはわからない。
