ハーヴァード大学の漢学者Stephen Owen（宇文所安）教授は杜甫*1の詩の全訳である、The Poetry of Du Fu*2を上梓した。全６冊、総頁数3000、重量約４kg。
例えば、あの「国破れて山河在り」の「春望」（「國破山河在，／城春草木深。／感時花濺涙，／恨別鳥驚心。／烽火連三月，／家書抵萬金。／白頭掻更短，／渾欲不勝簪。」*3）は以下のように訳されている；
杜甫の全訳はStephen Owenが初めてだが、セレクションとしては、詩人Sam Hamill*4によるFacing the Snow: Visions of Tu Fu *5、Burton Watson*6によるThe Selected Poems of Du Fuがあるという。また、Erwin von Zach*7は杜甫の全詩を独訳している。
