666の女

2014年12月30日、米国マサチューセッツ州Haverhill*1で、Amarellis Cermenoという54歳の女性がLa Iglesia Biblica Bautista教会の壁面15箇所に「666」という落書きをし、さらに「聖心教会（Sacred Heart Church）」から盗んだ*2金属製の十字架で警官に襲いかかり、逮捕された。動機についての言及は上掲の記事にはなし。「聖心教会」からはクリスマスの朝、「嬰児のイエス」像が盗まれていた。Amarellis Cermenoが盗んだ十字架は「嬰児のイエス」像盗難後に寄進されたもの。
衆知のように、「666」は「サタン」若しくは「反基督」を意味する*3 。
どうしてこんなことが起こったのか。もしかして、私が最近映画『オーメン』に言及したからかも知れない*4。ところで、『オーメン』は日本ではそれほどヒットしなかった。松田政男氏が、日本人が「オーメン」から連想するのは、

或いは、

であって、つまり恐怖ではなくお笑いだからだと言っていたような気が（『日付のある映画論』）。
