先週、David F. Ford Theology: A Very Short Introduction*1を読了。
先ず最初に神学とは広い意味において”thinking about questions raised by and about religions”であると述べられる（p.3）。第２章で述べられるのは神学と「宗教学（religious studies）」との関係、基督教神学の諸類型。第２部では、「神」（特に「三位一体」としての神）、神への態度としての「崇拝」と「倫理」、「悪」、「耶蘇」（救世主）、「救済」といった基督教神学の中心問題が概観される。第３部では、「神学」を行うのに必要な語学の意味、また神学の哲学的基礎が概説される。この第３部（特に第８章と第９章）は〈神学入門〉というよりも、それ自体として優れた翻訳論や解釈学（hermeneutics）と認識論（epistemology）の入門であり、基督教とか神学とかに関心がないという人はここを読まれることをお薦めしたい。
