役者のピーター・フォンダ*1が現地時間８月16日、紐育の自宅にて息を引き取った。享年79歳。彼は長らく肺癌を患っていた。
ピーター・フォンダといえば『イージー・ライダー』なのだけれど、その輝きが強すぎて、その後はあまりぱっとしなかったという印象がある。姉貴のジェーンと比べても。そうはいっても、ジョナサン・デミの怪作『怒りの山河』に主演しているといったことがあるわけだけど。「イージー・ライダー」で生き残っているのはジャック・ニコルソンのみか。
