2008年から仏蘭西シャトー＝シノン*1の農村部で開業していた和蘭人歯科医Jacobus van Nieropは2009年から2012年までの間に、不適切な施療によって患者の健康な歯を引き抜いたり、膿瘍や敗血症を引き起こしたりしていた。被害に遭った患者は100名以上に及ぶ。彼は2013年６月に逮捕されたが、その後仏蘭西から逃亡し、カナダのニュー・ブランズウィック州に潜んでいたところを、2014年９月に「国際逮捕状（an international arrest warrant）」によって再逮捕され、仏蘭西に送還された。今年の３月から裁判が始まり、懲役８年の判決が下された。傷害のほかに、患者及び保険会社への不当な請求という詐欺罪にも問われていたようだ。
要するに、農村部の医師不足を背景にした超トンデモな藪医者の活動ということなのだろうけど、問題はそれだけではなく、 Jacobus van Nieropの精神はとても不安定である（ように少なくとも見える）のだ；
また、３月の記事*2によると、
Locals said he tried to cut his throat when police arrived. He fought his extradition, claiming he was suffering from “psychological problems” and was suicidal, but was sent to a psychiatric unit in a jail in the Loiret region, south of Paris. He was not required to plea under French law.French psychiatrists have disagreed on his state of mind; one found he had “narcissistic tendencies” and was not responsible for his actions, but another declared Van Nierop “perfectly aware of what he was doing”.
そういえば、あの（ISISに殺された）湯川遥菜さんも自らの「ジェンダー･アイデンティティ」に問題を抱えていたなと思ったのだが*4、このJacobus van Nieropの場合は、その奇妙な言動は「心理学的問題」の症候とは認定されず、責任を逃れるための〈装われた狂気〉ということになったようだ。
Van Nierop tried to block his extradition, first to the Netherlands and then France, claiming to suffer from “psychological problems” including gender identity issues and suicidal tendencies. But he was eventually placed in a prison psychiatric unit in the Loiret department, south of Paris.“He claimed to have killed his first wife, he played crazy, he said he was transsexual. He tried everything” to avoid extradition, Martin*3 said.
それから、何故和蘭人が仏蘭西の田舎に歯医者として定住したのか疑問に思ったのだが、和蘭にいたときに既に医療問題で捜査の対象となっていたらしいのだ*5。

これは仏蘭西の田舎の事件とは関係なく、濠太剌利のメルボルン郊外で、無届けのまま2003年から10年以上も開業していた歯医者が患者をＢ型肝炎やＣ型肝炎やHIVに感染させていたという昨年６月の記事。
