熊肉は一度だけ通販で買って食したことがあります。味噌でやや濃いめに味を付けたので肉それ自体の味をストレートに味わったわけではありませんが、決して不味くはなかったですね。なにがなんでももう一度食べたいとは思いませんでしたが、値段と入手可能性次第では食材のレパートリーに入れることに抵抗はない、といったところでした。

さて、Henry Nicholls The Way of the Pandaという本が出たことを知る。

中国が自国の広告塔としてパンダを意識し始めたのは何時頃なのか。1963年に最初のパンダ切手が発行されたが、その辺りから？　また、WWFのロゴとなっているパンダのモデルは倫敦動物園にいたChi-Chi（1972年没）。
