Building of Mao museum begins
CONSTRUCTION of a museum which will showcase personal possessions of the late Chinese leader Mao Zedong and other related relics has begun in his hometown of Shaoshan, central China’s Hunan Province.
Covering more than five hectares, the museum will house more than 6,500 items left by Mao, including official documents, poems, stationery and even his old wash basin. Construction scheduled to be completed by the end of December to mark Mao’s 113th birthday.

Mission of love
A ZHEIJIANG woman who allegedly spent a year illegally in Europe attempting to track down her runaway husband was detained by immigration police yesterday as she flew back into Pudong International Airport. Police took her in for questioning after spotting a fake Czech Republic visa in her passport. The woman said she flown to see her husband, who had moved there to work. After an argument, the husband disappeared, and the woman moved to France to search for him.
