先日香港を襲った集中豪雨*1によって、香港島南部の紅山半島の海岸沿いの崖の上に立つオーシャン・ヴューの瀟洒なマンションが崖崩れのために崩壊の危機にあるという。また、そもそもそれらの建物は違法建築であり、建物の開発自体が今回の崖崩れの要因のひとつになっている可能性も高いという。

Government authorities told media there was evidence of illegal or unauthorised building works at two of the affected properties, including an illegally built swimming pool and a basement for which part of a retaining wall was allegedly demolished. Government departments were still investigating if the allegedly illegal structures were linked to the landslide, the South China Morning Post reported*2.
