トンガ王国の海底火山Hunga-Tonga-Hunga-Ha’apaiの噴火と津波。トンガ現地の状況はいまだ断片的にしか情報が入ってこない。現在見ることのできるイメージは、衛星写真と新西蘭軍の偵察機からの写真だけど、どちらもロングの鳥瞰。地上に降り立って撮られた、もっと水平でクローズ・アップされたイメージでないと、リアリティが殺がれるということはある。ただ、トンガを襲った津波の高さは15米と報じられており、この数字だけでも、きわめてやばい災害だったということは、わかる。
