作詞家のマリリン・バーグマン*1が現地時間１月８日、羅府の自宅にて息を引き取った。享年93歳。彼女は夫のアランとコンビで作詞活動を行なっていた。TVドラマや映画の主題歌を多く作詞した。私にとっていちばん印象に残っているのは、シドニー・ポラックのThe Way We Were（『追憶』）*2の、主演のバーブラ・ストライザンドが歌い、オスカーを獲ったテーマだろうか。また、彼女よりも数日早くこの世を去ったシドニー・ポワチエ主演の『夜の大捜査線』*3の主題歌も作詞している（作曲はクインシー・ジョーンズ）。そのクインシーのツィート；
