キャバレー・ヴォルテール*1の訃報*2。享年65歳。
1970年代末に登場したキャバレー・ヴォルテールやスロッビング・グリッスル*3などの音楽は現在ではポストパンク*4というふうに括られているようだが、当時はとにかくノイジーではあるけど、パンクともかなり違う何だか変な音楽として、かなり衝撃的だった。ロック・ファン或いはロック評論家でも、生理的準位における拒絶反応を起こした人も少なくなかった筈。
キャバレー・ヴォルテールでちゃんとアルバムを聴いているのは、ラフ・トレードから出た初期のThe Voice of America、Red Meccaくらいなのだった。
