紐育マンハッタン島のチェルシー附近で爆発。生命に別条はないが25名が負傷。警察当局などによれば、「ガス」漏れは、爆発の原因として既に排除されている。
チェルシーというと、ニコが”Chelsea Girls”で歌った、あのチェルシー・ホテル *1のあるところか。

なお、マンハッタンで爆発が起きる前には、紐育の隣のニュージャージー州で「爆弾」事件が起きている。幸いにして、怪我人は出ていない；
