ウンベルト・エーコ*1の新著Confessions of a Young Novelist(Harvard University Press)が出たらしい*2。2008年のエモリー大学The Richard Ellmann Lectures in Modern Literatureに基づくもの。4部から構成されている。第1部はクリエイティヴエクリチュールと科学的エクリチュールの区別について。「艾柯指出、文学與科学的区別不在於内容的真假、而在於作者対人們如何解読其文本所採取的両種截然相反的態度」(p.109)。第2部は作者‐テクスト‐読者の相互作用について(pp.109-110)。第3部は(小説の)虚構世界と(現実世界に生きる)読者との関係について(p.110)。第4部ではエーコのフェイヴァリットな作家たちが語られる(ibid.)。これは2009年に出たThe Infinity of List*3の「濃縮版」のようなものだという。
