上海在住のWang Zixian氏（28歳）らは、地元のサイトhttp://www.52marry.cnで、”I am single and available for a date.”というメッセージを意味するグッズについて議論したところ、Mという字が刺繍されたシルクのリスト・バンドに決定。何故Mか。”common in the three words—man, woman and marry—“だからだという。http://www.52marry.cnではリスト・バンド製作に資金提供し、第１段として、５月末に1200個が無料配布された。第二段としては、七夕イヴである７月30日に淮海路のParkson（百盛）前で配布される。
Wang氏によれば、”We all meet those occasions in the street or on the Metro when you find a girl particularly charming or of your kind, but the idea she might not be single or her boyfriend could be around always stops you actually starting to chat”.
